Research Essay Example for Free

Research EssayEl Fili as it is popularly called, is a darker and more than evolved myth compared to Noli. Its a book about revenge, manipulation, deception and greed to name a few. Its a shorter book. The dreaminess and idealism of the Noli Me Tangere gives way to the darker, grimmer, more cynical tone of the El Filibusterismo. So the language style also changes preferably of the longer, declamative dialogue of the Noli, you sp shoemakers last a penny the more direct, action-packed style of the Fill. The Noli, with its anti-friar commentary, still shows hopefulness in terms of a Just urbane colonial governance. In comparison, the Fili describes a deep-seated corruption in oth civil government and church, creating a rules of order seething with injustice, and setting the stage for possible revolution. I guess this definitely shows the changes in Rizals state of oral sex as he was writing the two novels. So, he wrote Fili and expressed his thoughts on the possible solution to the countrys situation. Yes, if you in reality analyze the messages in both novels, Nolis intention was to state the problem while Fills was to present the possible solutions.I thought Rizal did not write Fili Just to fan further the flame caused by Noli moreover to verbalise the Filipinos he different alternatives to their problems and what he thought was the best solution non-violence. 1. Style. The opening scene in Noli, the sybaritic welcome party in Capitan Tiagos house mirrors the condition of the country right away. On the other hand, the upper berth and lower decks in MN Tabo shows the marked difference between the social strata in the country curiously the Spaniards (peninsulares, insulares, mestizos) and the lowly indios. As per as the manner of writing, i. e. , long or short, simple or complex, sentences, rushed or leisurely pacing, they are the same. -rte tote up 0-0 2. Tone. Noli is social while Fili is political. Noli still has a heart because it has this pas sionate turn in story between Ibarra and Maria Clara. Fili is mostly about revenge and debates which mean it has more brain than heart. So, this depends in the readers preference. I thought that I enjoyedNoli more. Noli over Fili realize 1-0 3. Mood. Noli is confused yet still hopeful. Angst is still underneath.Fillis birthday suit hatred from page 1 until the last chapter except in the last scene. There are more scenes in Noli where I was mesmerized by Rizals use of beautiful prose putting natural color on his settings. There are still some in Fili but they were overshadowed by the strong hatred feelings from the characters. SCORE 2-0 4. Diction. Rizal used his characters to express his thoughts. There are these debates or long conversations that while reading, you will get the heart that Rizal is discussing his views with you.In Noli, in that respect are only 2 Ibarra and Pilisopo Tasyo is one and the debate about the town banquet as the other. Fili on the other hand, has a lot more Isagani vs Ginoong Pasta, Macaraig vs Don Cammaro, the friars and government officials in Los Banos, Placido Penitente vs his professor, Isagani vs male parent Fernandez and even the last scene with Simon and don Florentino. Wonderful debates. Fili over Noli SCORE 2-1 5. Point of View. Both rent an omniscient fibber but there is a part in Fili when Rizal used stream-of-consciousness. This is the part when Simoun hear about the death of Maria Clara. What an effective way of expressing Rizals sadness and I could not help but wonder if this was how he felt when Leonor Rivera got married to a foreigner. SCORE 2-2 6. Narrative Presence. The attitude of the omniscient bank clerk is more accommodating and patient in Fili rather than in Noli. For example, in the Noche Buena scene in Noli, the narrator used the readers sympathy over the limping Basilio chasing the crazy Sisa and he forgot to describe the setting. In Fili with Basilio after 13 years, I was in awe reading the beau tiful description of the forest while Basilio was remembering the commencement Noche Buena.Narrative Attitude. Despite those beautiful descriptions of the settings in Fill, it is more direct and straightforward. Although the message is sometimes diluted by the many options presented, Rizal was able to tie the loose ends in the very last chapter during the whole-day conversation between Simoun and Padre Florentino. Also, the dialogues are more brutal like in the scene with the talking head or sphinx. SCORE 2-4 8. Time Frame. Noli starts with Ibarras homecoming after anticipateing in Europe for 7 years. Fili starts witn Simouns appearance atter disappearing as Ibarra atter 1 years.Ibarra is hopeful that he will be able to bring change by putting up a drill with his love for his country as the reason. He was able to learn this from his trips abroad including his stay in Spain. However, the 13 years in Cuba was, for me, not enough for Simoun to gather all those treasures that he clai med to have even come rom Marie Antoinette and the pyramids in Egypt. It Just sounded not too plausible.. Time Management. Noli starts at the end of October to December 24 (Christmas Eve). Fili on Christmas Eve to after Holy Week or after the school year.Less than 2 months for Rizal to tell the tale of a small town of San Diego but he call for more than that to tell the events in the city. I thought he used his time frames quite hale in both. SCORE still at 3-4 10. Place. If Calamba were the basis for San Diego, the Binondo and San Diego locations in Noli seems to be more realistic. The lagoon de Bay-Manila-pasig River- Tiyani-Binondo thence finally to a provincial place with a plateau and the plateau is right in figurehead of a deep sea is Just a bit of a stretch. How could the weak and wounded Simoun conk to a far-flung provincial place of Padre Florentino? Some say that the basis of this place was Atimonan, Quezon and it is a 4-hour drive from Manila. But for a horse-drawn car riage during the Spanish times? And Simoun was still able to profess to the priest for 1 whole day SCORE 4-4 11. Motif. The letters are the recurring images in Noli and there was not a single letter in Fill. Rather, in Fili the recurring images are the treasures and the lights. The letters in Noli denotes secrecy or inner ghosts. They signify the hidden emotional turmoil of Rizal and the Filipinos. The treasures in Fili means loathsomeness not all the glitters are gold and the lights, e. g. the stars that were in the sky guiding Basilio, the lights reflected on the surface of Laguna de Bay and the lamplight that could have killed all the rich and famous in Manila, signify hope. Rizal was really wonderful in using his motifs. SCORE still at 4-4 12. Theme. Overall, Noli is positive hope, love, beautiful memories, parties, town iesta, picnic by the riverbank, innovative for a school, many books, knowledge, etc. On the other hand, again overall, Fili is negative hate, revenge, death, rape in the open, persecution, students leaving the university, scary stage shows, protests, son killing his own kin, etc SCORE 5-4 13.Irony. Since there is no prevailing emotion in Noli, the use of irony in that novel is more effective. Who would forget the Christmas Eve when Basilio was chasing Sisa, his lunatic mother? There were also scenes in Filiwhen this was nicely used like when Simoun went to the house of Kabesang Tales and lured him to commit rebellion by howing him the treasures. However, we already knew Simouns intent even at the onset so it was not as effective as those last scene in Noli. The one of Carolino and Tandang Selo was anti-climatic in my opinion.SCORE 6-4 14. Rythmn. Narrative rhythm is greatly exploit by the theme in these two books. I enjoyed the deployment of words better in Noli for example the quaint but kilig dialogues between Ibarra and Maria Clara when they were in the azotea. The many long debates in Fili were at times so convoluted that they te nd to go around in circles (not to mention non-sense characters mouthing nonsense statements) that here are part when they were boring and pointless. SCORE 7-4 15. Pace. I thought that this was won by Fili by a mile.

Although there atomic number 18 several ways to hunt deer, the dickens most frequently used are unclothe hunting and bow hunting. Boxes of ammunition can range up to twenty five dollars and can not be reused. The cost of bow hunting is lower than rifle hunting due to the low cost of the equipment. Most bows range between five hundred to a thousand dollars. The arrows for the bow can be some propagation be more than costly than ammuniti on if a high quality arrow is purchased. nonetheless unlike the rifle ammunition, the arrows can be reused many times before they start to lose their effectiveness. The rifle hunting season does not start right when deer season actually begins. The deer are still abundant, but you are not able to hunt the root few weeks of deer season. Since the big deer seem to be more prevalent during the first few weeks of the season you may have the chance to see that big buck that you always wanted to see. utilise a rife does increase your accuracy and range. With the proper scope, the rifle can have up to five times the range of a bow. However, track speeddo wn range can affect the bridle-path of the bullet. It can sometimes be hard to discern what the wind is doing three hundred yards away from you. However since the rifle is so powerful, your aim does not have to be perfect to kill the deer.Using a bow means decreased accuracy and range. Bows do not typically get down with scopes, but with out-of-doors sights. This means that you rely on your eyes to line up the cross hairs versus a scope doing it for you. rustle direction and speed has an impact on arrows also. However since the range is limited, you can judge by the wind around you. This means it is easier to adjust for the wind shifting. Since a bow is less powerful the accuracy of the whirl has to be near perfect to make a kill.Using a rifle during hunting also requires less skill as a hunter. Since the accuracy is so high at long ranges, larceny is not as crucial. A small understanding of the deers natural habits is needed. Since you have standoffishness on your side you d ont have to be concerned so much over whether or not the deer can smell you or not. Rifle hunting is also considered one of the easier types of deer hunting and is used a lot by beginners.Using a bow yet requires a lot more skill as a hunter. Since the accuracy and range of the bow is limited, you make up ones mind you have to be extremely close to the deer to make a shot. Camouflage and stealth are critical elements in achieving this. You also have to have a fair amount of knowledge close to the deer itself. Since the deer can smell you at this range you have to understand how to avoid the deer getting your scent. Bow hunting is considered a little harder and is used by seasoned hunters.Rifle hunting and bow hunting both will make your day more enjoyable no military issue which one you choose. Rifle hunting will give you the assurance of knowing you can kill your first deer. However bow hunting will give you the thrill of the hunt and make you long to come back the next day to g et that one you missed. After all, thats why they call it hunting.

Learning disability Essay Example for Free

Learning disability EssaySpecial education refers to the arrangement of teaching procedures, capable equipment and materials, fond settings, and other interventions designed to address the needs of students with learning differences, mental health issues, physical and developmental disabilities, and giftedness. Provision of special education is inferred from two provisions of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Article II, Section 17 provides that the res earthly concerna must give priority to education, while Article XIV, Section 1 guarantees that this education be accessible to all appropriate steps must be taken.School can be particularly challenging for children with special needs, including those with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD, who often experience poor academic performance, behavior problems, and difficulties with social interaction. The status can be further complicated by the fact that there is no typical, predictable schoolroom style common to all children with special needs, for that matter. It can also be hard for parents to tell how more of any problem identified by a teacher falls into the normal range of a child development, for example how much is due to ADHD, and how much is due to coexisting problem such as learning disability, anxiety disorder, or disruptive behavior and others. Add to this fact that the public school system here in the Philippines may not have Individualized Education Program (IEP) that will assure the needs of these special children. In this study, the researchers will use different basic methods of assessing special education platform how it may be integrated into the mainstream or general education particularly in the Philippine public school system, without compromising quality of education.

Miss Horne said, I guess it could be an elephant, but this animal goes, Nayyy. Paul chuckled and said, a horse. Miss Horne said she needed to hear it in French. Paul said, Thats means un cheval. She then asked the French names for other animals, including cow, pig, wolf, and goat. 227 Miss Horne said it was approximately time to go back to their homeroom. She wanted them to clean up around their desk, and put their books away. 229 Miss Horne said that she would walk the students back to their homeroom. She said, Now use your hall voices, boys and girls. They left together. Scenario 4 Inside a fitness center 7 21 Two(2) adult men, more or less 30 35, and a younger teenage boy, approximately 17, entered the gym. It was a fairly small gym. They began stretching their legs and arms, and talking among themselves. The youngest male said, Dad, I dont think I locked my locker. His get told him that before they really got started, he should go and check, just in case. The boy agreed. He left. The father said to his friend, Swear hed forget his was, hes so forgetful. God, kids today. 722 The father sprayed the system of weights bench with a cleaner, one of many that were in the fitness center. He took a white towel, wiped down the bench, then put the cleaner and the white towel away (there was a bin for used towels and another for clean towels). 7 23 They went toward the weights. The father suggested they do their usual routine. Then he lay on the bench, and his friend put a 130 pound weight in his grasp. He lifted the weight easily. He counted down from ten to one. Then he stopped and they talked for a few moments, and the other man took his turn at the weights. 733 The fathers son came back, and announced that he had indeed locked his locker. When the man did his weights, Shawn watched, then he also did three sets with a lower weight, while h is father encouraged him. 7 42 When Shawn finished, his father adjusted the weight bench so that it was on an incline. They each took their turns doing the weights this way. At one point, Shawns fathers friend said he was getting a cramp, and he said, This is my last set for tonight. He said he had to go to the bathroom.Shawn and his father sat on the bench. Shawns father told him about a story where a guy dropped the weight across his chest, and that he couldnt get up, or barely move. He yelled out for mortal to help him, and two (2) women each held an edge each. They lifted the weight, but then dropped it. The mans ribs were abject and he could barely move. Shawn listened, his mouth opened. He said that he wasnt sure he believed that. Youre always making up stories, Dad. A group of people, mostly women, went into a room. An instructor (1) came out and said, Aerobics, last call. Shawn said he thought they should go in, too.His father laughed and told him that he only wanted to go in because of the women, and part of getting fit was not letting anything distract you. Shawn rolled his eyes and said that he hoped there would never be a day when women didnt distract him. Shawn watched the last woman go in, a slim woman about his age. He gave a low whistle only he and his dad could hear. 7 54 Shawns father said that he wondered how his friend was doing. He said, Maybe I should go check on Cal. He told Shawn not to continue the weights until he came back. There were other men there who said they wanted to use that bench, and Shawns father said that was okay.Shawn said he would go and run on the treadmill until they returned. 7 56 Shawn walked to the right where the treadmills were, along with stationary bikes and other equipment. Shawn walked around, and all treadmills were in use. He walked back to the weights, then returned again to the treadmills. 7 58 A woman (1) noticed Shawn. She asked him if he was waiting for a treadmill. He said that he was. She said , Im almost finished. About five minutes more. Sign your name under mine. Shawn said Thank you, then signed his name on a list on the wall. He walked around for a bit, then came back to wait.802 The woman got off the treadmill, wiped it with a towel that was around her neck. She said, Its all yours, and Shawn thanked her. He got on the treadmill, and adjusted it so he was at a fast walking pace. He did this for a few minutes, then increased the speed so he was jogging. 816 Shawns father and Cal came up to the treadmill. Shawns father said they couldnt see him right away as he was the last one against the wall. Shawn asked Cal how he was doing, and Cal said, Ah, it was nothing. Gas, I think. Shawn slowed down the treadmill. He said, Are we going to finish our sets? Cal said yes, and Shawn stopped the treadmill pace and let it slow down. Then he got off, and sprayed it with cleaner and a white towel, then put the cleaning items away. 817 The three (3) went toward the weights, but th e other men were still on the bench they were previously using. Cal said, This isnt our night. He suggested they do lengths in the pool instead. The others agreed. But then Shawn said that he didnt have his swimming trunks with him. The three of them laughed, shaking their heads. 820 Shawn said they should just go have a coffee somewhere. Cal said he was just going to go on home. They left the gym together.

Historical Vacation in Nevada Essay Example for Free

Historical Vacation in Nevada EssayAt present, Nevada is one of the largest and the vanquish states in the U. S. Visiting this state simply means not finding a shortage of action. Nevada is one of the only postures in the res publicas where it is possible to perform morning ski world-class runs and afternoon world-class green walks. Nevada is withal famous for Tahoe Rim Trail, Truckee River, Sand Mountain, and world-class shows and dines and world-famous casino and resorts. Aside from these, Nevada is excessively a state rich in culture and history. This is the reason why with my time cable car, I intractable to visit Nevada with my History professor.I chose to visit Nevada with my History professor because I thought that he is the best person who can help me understand special places and raft in this state. However, with so many periods and so many places to explore, I asked my History professor, where should we begin? Historical Vacation in Nevada I had quite a long d iscussion with my professor about the places, period, and events to visit. After a long discussion, we both agreed to deplete my time machine and go back to the 19th atomic number 6 where some of the famous Nevadans, in the line of merchandise of politics and arts, existed. For our first destination, my professor asked me to set my time machine to the 19th nose candy. With a wink of an eye, we get on a very beautiful place. I was very surprised to see mansions, 19th century houses, imported furniture, stylish fashion which seem to cause come from the Orient and Europe. I had the impression that this place was a very boisterous town. I asked my professor if he knows this place. At first, he didnt have any idea until we saw gold in the hills and dollars being made. I saw my professors eyes widened while saying We are in Virginia City, Nevada We walked around the beautiful town and we saw a man walking on the street. My professors face brightened up and he told me that this man i s a very important man in the history. I looked at the mans face and realize that I saw it once in one of my history books. I suddenly remembered this man is none other than William Morris Stewart My professor explained that Mr. William Morris Stewart was one of the participants in the exploit litigation in Virginia City, Nevada in 1860. He also helped and played a big role in the Comstock Lodes development. Nevada became a state in 1864 and Mr.Stewart helped in the development of the States constitution (Smith, 1943). However, his role in the state as a politician and lawyer had always been very controversial. He was accused by his opponents of bribing juries and judges (Plazak, 2006). Despite this, Mr. Stewart was nevertheless take as a Republican in the United States Senate in 1864 and served until 1875. He was again elected to the United States Senate in 1887 and was reelected in 1893 and again in 1899. During his term in the Senate, Mr. Stewart co-authored or drafted import ant legislation, including terra firma reclamation laws and mining acts. However, he became famous for authoring the 15th Amendment to the US Constitution in 1868. This amendment promotes the protection of peoples voting rights regardless of color, race, or previous servitude condition. It was a great pleasure to learn about the contributions of Mr. William Morris Stewart but of course, it was really a great pleasure to experience visiting Virginia City. We went back to my time machine and went to a slightly diverse setting but also in the same period, the 19th century. When we landed, what I saw was not at all as beautiful as what I saw in Virginia City. I had the impression that we were in a ghost town.It was so dusty, hot, humid, and all I could smell was dust. I asked my professor where we were and he told me that were in Goldfield, one of the important cities of Nevada. I was surprised because it was so different from the Goldfield I know of during my time. While wandering in this ghost town-like place, we saw Mr. George Wingfield, the man tardily the Nevada business mining camps. Once again, my History professor explained that Mr. Wingfield converted the useless mines of Nevada into great mines. He was one of the greatest organizers that post mining companies into operation (Time US, 1937).My professor further explained that Mr. Wingfields first mining venture in the State was in Golconda copper mines. It was a hard time for him as he was practically stripped take out and had a gold fever but he was not discouraged. He was also the man behind the fight against the Western Federation of Miners and Industrial Workers of the World. These two organizations controlled the situations in the mine and George Wingfield was so determined to go against the orders and he succeeded, giving freedom to majority of miners in the mines. Again, it was a pleasure for me to know that Mr.George Wingfield was behind the advantage of Goldfield. For our last destination, m y professor decided to go to early 20th century of Reno. I was so mesmerized to see that Reno in the early 20th century was not at all so different from the Reno I know of. I was entertained by the peculiar neon marquees as they cast an country nighttime glow on Nevadas ever famous Truckee River. From a distance where my professor and I were standing, we could see the hotel towers as they punctuate the high-desert setting of the city between the arid Great Basin and the sierra Nevadas eastern slope. However, what I wont forget about this early 20th century to Reno is my encounter with Mr. Robert Cole Naples, one of the famous painters of the USA. My professor and I agree that he had contributed a standoff in the American art. References Smith, Grant. (1943). The History of the Comstock Lode. Univ. of Nevada Bulletin, 37(3), 69. Plazak. Dan. Being A Passive Listener English Language Essay

Being A Passive Listener English Language seeListening is a prerequisite of learning. It involves coping, attending, understanding, remembering, evaluating and responding to spoken messages. We tummy non understand , learn or remember something unless we render attention. A passive meeter is unrivaled who pays low concentration and effort into what is been communicated, which may be attentive or supportive unless occurs without further conscious engagement from the he ber, this unantiphonaryness may represent a blow on the part of effective auditory modality skills with school, family ,friends and co-workers. There are numerous disadvantages of passive auditory modality. Being a passive listener is an unresponsive act, it may usurp an separates academic progress, social and official interactions. In separate participation may be highly most-valuable but being a passive listener deprives one the opportunity of staying focused. it brings about low intake during lectures a nd study hours. More concentration could have been do within the time spent on mopping or interacting with other folks. The passive listener tends to hear words but does non really listening to the words nor the deep meaning of them. The listener is cognise for staying at a surface conversation level and never understands the deeper significance of what was being said. Being a passive listener is a very bad skill for students because they tend to loose a herd during lectures and variantes. A passive listener might be present in class but isnt nonrecreational total attention to what is been taught . They could be easily distracted when been spoken to because they tend not to have their minds on what is being taught and because of this they tend to loose the most vital information during lectures or else of taking down important notes in class, their minds wander so they solo collect little or no points and information which is not really important. Hence, they do not get mo st out of a lecture can presume a student during exactly because they tend to be lost.It is a largely inactive process which leaves the individual clueless. They do hear the words but find it extremely difficult to understand or to read with the vocalizers intention. The listener tends to listen logically and is more concerned for content than for feeling this beats the listener emotionally uninvolved from the conversations, by this attitude friendships may be ruined as well.Passive listeners tend to destroy their misfortunate or long term relationships and friendships, it in like manner gives an unpleasant impression about people, it sends around the idea that the listener isnt interested in paying attention to what is been said, due to the fact that they do not take in a lot from the senders messages , this could be either personally or professionally informations. Personal information could allow in social relationship , marriage complains , school issue , break ups, un wanted pregnancy and so on. If sender could find sureness in an individual.Being a passive listener can also affect ones communication with friends and family or even in work places due to the fact that passive listener makes one not to communicate properly because the passive listener cannot give inputs, opinions and supportive words but instead waits for a speaker to response what the individual has to say . being a passive listener also makes one not to react mend listening or even give verbal dues to exhibit they are listening e.g. nodding , blinking of eyes , questioning etc. Hence, if you care for someone you would pay attention to their lives too, thats what good friendships are made of. Being a passive listener does not set off one to be active student because passive listeners tend to be dull and not responsive in class because they tend not to understand the speakers pattern of organization. i.e. what the speaker is ariving at and how the speaker is getting thither. p assive listening can also make one to be an unmotivated listener because a passive listener may not know why listening is important because they do not even have the time to determine why what the speaker is saying is important to them. Low indigence to examine the text critically or at an in-depth level. other factors may include low indigence to study , poor reflection skills and unprogressive reading. Important pieces of data and assumptions may be missed. Data and assumptions that are perceived by the passive reader are accepted at face value or are examined superficially, with little thought.Being a passive listener can also affect ones communication with friends and family or even in work places due to the fact that passive listener makes one not to communicate properly because he/she cannot give supportive words but instead waits for a speaker to response what he/she has to say . being a passive listener also makes one not to react while listening or even give verbal dues to show they are listening e.g. nodding , blinking of eyes , questioning etc. They receive information has though bing talked to rather than as being an equal partner in the communication process.A passive listener is a life-sized assumer. they believe the communication is the responsibility of the speaker. Little do they know such listening habit can lead to dangerous misunderstandings because there is insufficient communication. Being a passive listener can make one not to have high grades during tests or exams , which have happened due to the fact that the listener did not develop organized notes for study time and has less knowledge when it comes taking in good ideas from class topics. Getting low grades is an end factor of being a passive listener , not only does it reduce the performance of the passive listener but it may also decrease the individuals self confidence academically and socially. They tend to tune in and tune out unexpectedly. They are somewhat aware of others but mainly pays attention to self thoughts. They follow the discussion only enough to get a bechance to talk. Their listening is quiet and unresponsive, such a listener testament often fake attention while thinking about unrelated matters , forming rebuttals or preparing what he wants to say next. According to the english writer Chesterton G.K there is a lot of difference between listening and learning. Listening is when an individual puts full concentration or is consciously aware of the communication from the speaker while learning is perfectly likewise to listening but the big difference is the response and features of the listener when questions are being asked. The passive listener tends to misunderstand the of actually relating with each sentences that comes from the speaker and writing it down on paper for more understandingHowever, every individual should master good listening skills as it is important in every aspect of our lives. Poor listening skills brings about nothing but no preparation and unawareness for an individual. A good listener will defiantly learn and progress more with academics and social interactions with friends and family. It takes a great individual to be a good listener

Innovation in Food Technology

Innovation in victuals technologyNowadays the there various kind of issues that arroused in our country, Malaysia and most probably the issues strongly related to the intellectual nourishment manufacturing. For my essay, i testament focus on the issue of innovation in food technology by the used of ergonomics. In order to produce healthy food formulation at the same time nutritious food, varioustraditional food technologies generate been advanced and sore technologies create efficeintly. Recently, there is an pregnant aspect of innovation in food technology in order to translate nutrition knowledge into a product. (Deliza, Rosenthal Silva, 2003).The issue of innovation in food technology very aspire me to develop to a greater extent on it be app argonnt motion I bear found wizard article from the The Star online refreshfulspaper which regarding the improving on food quality. Accoding to that article the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus is developing new techno logies aimed at ensuring the food that we grow is nutritious and rubber for consumption. In fact, the Centre of Excellent for Post-Harvest Biotechnology (CEPB) led by Dr Asgar Ali who is expert in post-harvest biology and technology bring out tongue to that. the purpose of the centre is creating new technologies that could decreasing food looses, increasing overall quality and safety of the food. The study(ip) reason is to increase the profit to marketers and growers and the make availability of the quality and nutritious food to consumers.Biotechnology uses biological systems, living organisms, or comp geniusnts of organisms to make or modify products or processes for specific uses. For centuries farmers take over improved browse dresss by traditional breeding techniques, but since thousands of genes argon mixed every time two institutes are crossed, the outcome of the cross-breeding is random and difficult to control because unwanted characteristics are passed on to the n ew crop on with the intrustd ones. Therefore, this traditional cross-breeding sack take place only between closely-related species. Modern crop breeders, however, apprise select a specific genetic trait from any plant, or even from an animal source, and tape transport it into the genetic code of an opposite plant through modern ergonomics. In addition, Some people go through that the effects of Genetically Modified (GM) crops on human health are non yet adequately understood. There are bear upons about the use of viral DNA during the modification process, and some question whether there would be new health risks if genes introduced in a GM crop were to be taken up by the human body. The safety of GM crops is often assessed by comparison with the closest conventional counterpart. each in all, the main issue regarding biotechnology in food production is whether genetically modified technologies is safe to consume and it is still to be resolved even after the enactment of the Biosafety Act 2007 (Phuoc, 2012)This issue give the big impact on the neighborly, economical and political factors. In a modern society, people desire both good health and endurance and hence demand nutritious and functional food that promotes their wellbeing, enjoyment, and sprightly lifestyle. Today, there are widely used of biotechnology in food production and we as a consumer does not know whether the food that we consume is safe to consume or not.Basically, biotechnology can cave in to future food security if it benefits sustainable small-farm land in developing countries. Significant deviation exists in everyones opinions about biotechnology. Although there is wide support in health benefits for plant biotechnology, but still have differ views on the issue of animal genetics for economic gains. While some are unlike to it, many are unsolve about genetically modified foods. There are concerns that the application of GM crops competency direct to a reduction in biodiversit y (the variety of plants and animals in the trigger-happy), Mainly in areas where the crop is originated and a broad range of natural genetic diversification is found. There might also be unanticipated consequences of gene transfer (or gene flow) between plants, for example an irretrievable or uncontrollable escape of genes into neighbouring wild plants by pollen. The concern arise regarding that pests or weeds could acquire shield to crops (Anonymous 2, 2003).The other effect to the social is regarding the human health towards this issue. Allergenicity, many children in the United State and Europe have suffurred from life-threatening allergies to peanuts and other foods. There is a broad(prenominal) possibility that introducing a gene into a plant whitethorn acquire a newallergenor cause an allergic reaction in susceptible individuals. Therefore, a intent to integrate a gene from Brazil nuts into soybeans was deserted in order to avoid unheralded allergic reactions. There i s a growing concern that introducing foreign genes into food plants may have an unanticipated and negative impact on human health.A recent article published in fizgig examined the effects of GM potatoes on the digestive tract in rats.. There were significant differences in the intestines of rats ply GM potatoes and rats fed normal potatoes Yet critics say that this paper, like the monarch butterfly data, is flawed and does not hold up to scientific analysis. Moreover, the gene inserted into the potatoes known as snowdrop flower lectin and this substances can cause toxic to mammals.Biotechnology may offer a way out of this dependence on unsustainable agriculture by eventually producing crop plants that enable agriculture to sustain yields but minimize environmental impacts. save the perception in Europe is that some of the set out generation of genetically modified (GM) crops, especially those developed for the US agricultural situation, which are herbicide- tolerant and insect- resistant, may present yet further risks to biodiversity in our present intensive agricultural system.Instead of influencing social, the biotechnology in food also allow affect the economic as well by bringing a GM food to market is a long and costly process, and of course agri-biotech companies wish to ensure a profitable return on their investment. Many new plant genetic engineering technologies and GM plants have been unembellisheded, and patent infringement is a big concern of agribusiness (Whitman, 2000) . Yet consumer advocates are worried that patenting these new plant varieties allow raise the price of seeds so high that small farmers and third world countries will not be able to afford seeds for GM crops, thus widening the gap between the wealthy and the poor. It is hoped that in a humanitarian gesture, more companies and non-profits will follow the lead of the Rockefeller Foundation and offer their products at reduced cost to impoverished nations.Patent enforcement may also be difficult, as the contention of the farmers that they involuntarily grew Monsanto-engineered strains when their crops were cross-pollinated shows. One way to combat possible patent infringement is to introduce a suicide gene into GM plants. These plants would be viable for only one growing season and would produce sterile seeds that do not germinate. Farmers would need to profane a modern supply of seeds each year. However, this would be pecuniaryly disastrous for farmers in third world countries who cannot afford to buy seed each year and traditionally set aside a portion of their harvest to plant in the next growing season. In an open letter to the public, Monsanto has pledged to abandon all research using this suicide gene technology (Whitman, 2000).The last implication regarding political factors. To date, there is no leaven that any harm has come to anyone of the millions of people around the world in the last decade who have eaten foods derived from biotechnology . Regulatory authorities in the region closely monitor the safety of all foods including foods produced through biotechnology. The Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization have established procedures to determine the safety of biotechnology products and these procedures are met or exceeded by regulatory systems around the world. Countries such as the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Korea, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the European. Union have all used their regulatory process to determine the food safety of at least one product of biotechnology.Developments in food biotechnology have had numerous impacts on how food is produced, packaged, tested and carry on as whole it give big impact to the food industry. Many of the changes have meant undisputable improvements to our safety and health, while others are more controversial. For example, by using the biotechnology in food processing in where plastic wraps that proceed food from spoilinginhibit the growth of bacteria, and some are even edible. born(p) antibiotic substances derived from sources such as cloves, oregano, thyme and paprika have been combined with controlled-release biodegradable polymers (smart polymers) to create plastics that can prevent biofilm formation resulting high quality of food products in the market. In the area of food manufacturing, the use of biotechnology falls into four main categories, namely 1) foods consisting of or containing viable organisms 2) foods obtained from or containing ingredients obtained from GMOs 3) foods containing single ingredients or additives produced by genetically modified microorganisms (GMMs) and 4) foods containing ingredients processed by enzymes produced by GMMs (Hsieh and Ofori, 2007).The food industry plays a vital habit in shaping consumers attitudes and appetite for new food items. This is particularly true for the products developed with biotechnology. Opponents have waged an predatory campaig n to pressure the industry into publicly rejecting biotechnology. In such cases, companies have been forced to take steps against their own beliefs and long- term interests (Thomas, 2000).Their main concerns involve lack of consumer acceptance not the safety of the foods. They express high levels of confidence in the science and the regulatory process. In fact, almost none bump that biotechnology should not be used because of uncertain, potential risks. Most food industry leaders do not feel it is necessary to have special labels on foods developed through biotechnology. They express concerns that such labels would be sensed as a warning by consumers. They also worried that the need to segregate commodities would pose financial and logistical burdens on everyone in the system including consumers. Food industry leaders recognize a major need to educate the public about biotechnology. They look to third parties, such as university and government scientists to picture such leaders hip. Many solutions that could be done to make sure that the isssue regarding biotechnology in food can be overcome. From my point of view, one of the scoop way is extensive testing of GM foods may be required to avoid the possibility of harm to consumers with food allergies. Plus, labeling of GM foods and food products will acquire new importance. According to Whitman (2000) , Labeling of GM foods and food products is also a contentious issue. On the whole, agribusiness industries believe that labeling should be voluntary and influenced by the demands of the free market. If consumers show preference for labeled foods over nonlabeled foods, then industry will have the incentive to regulate itself or risk alienating the customer. Consumer interest groups, on the other hand, are demanding mandatory labeling. People have the right to know what they are eating, argue the interest groups, and historically industry has proven itself to be unreliable at self-compliance with existing safety regulations.preventing outcrossing by engineering pollen incompatibility and other mechanisms into crops. This could significantly reduce the risk of spread of GM traits into native species. On the other hand, achieving insect resistance by altering physical characteristics of plants, perhaps by increasing hairiness or thickening the plant cuticle. This could reduce insecticide use, without using in-plant toxins. Securing fungal resistance in adult plants by switching on resistance genes that are active in the seed, but not currently in adult plants. This seems to be an elegant and safe use of biotechnology which could lead to significant reductions in fungicide use.Research shows that consumers will accept biotech foods if they see a benefit to themselves or society and if the price is right. Their responses to foods developed through biotechnology are basically the same as for any other food taste, nutrition, price, safety and convenience are the major factors that influence our d ecisions about which foods to eat. How seeds and food ingredients are developed will only be relevant for a relatively small group of concerned, consumers. The food industry needs to focus on what it does best namely producing and distributing value added foods that consumers want.Given that we have only one planet, more people to feed and less resources available what shall we do? A smart way would be to use the tools we have at our presidency to better adapt to future changes and invest in those innovative solutions. We have the technology. We have the infrastructure. The rules and regulations are already in place. Must we have a crisis before we act in Europe?
